Print Projects

I love books, and I've always wanted to produce books like those that inspired me when I was coming of age. I've always loved large format sci-fi illustration books, so it was a great opportunity to contribute to the Concept Design books published by Scott Robertson. I hope to produce more projects in book form in the future.

Concept Design I [2003]
Derelict Ship
Scott Robertson had a vision for a kind of book that nobody was making at the time. He gathered together a number of fellow artists from the Los Angeles area, with the idea of self-generating a book of elaborate concepts to serve a showcase. The book was well-received, and it was very challenging and gratifying to work on over the course of a year or more.
Concept Design II [2006]
Mass Evacuation
This was a follow-up to Concept Design I, and in addition to the original artists, the book showcased a larger number of fellow illustrators and designers. It was a blast, and although it's a lot of work to do a project like that when you have a full-time job, the creative satisfaction of the freedom of the project was very fulfilling.
